What we know
1893 - ?
Son of Bart and Lizzie Morrison. Troubles is his twin brother. One of thirteen children1.
The Cold
Trials Morrison never forgot his freezing days
searching for nuggets of coal the train might have
spilt along the railway, lighting them carefully
under his breath, sharing the wealth of warmth
with too many icy bodies.
To keep the coals breathing,
he put them in rusted cans.
Tried it this way and that way
until he found the perfect nest
to shelter his glowing embers.
He patented his tin can stoves.
T. M. Davidson staked his business—
But Trials cooked the books
to make sure that no one was left
out in the cold.
