Married Mandy Johnson in 1872, and they moved from Georgia to Marble Springs in search of silver. After trying to find silver on his own, he worked for Old Joe's Sugar Boy Mine. Killed in an explosion¹ at the mine. Four children (Tad, Gus, Silas, and Solace). Two others died as infants (Ken and William).
